Reverend Father LeRay traveled around the territory sometimes by aircraft. This plane is one of the first in Stewart.
The Rev. Father LeRay, who served many communities in northern British Columbia, had the distinction of being one of the most popular personalities in the Stewart district during his many years of service there.
He was a friend of everyone, irrespective of religion, and made many a call to a lonely prospector's cabin, to have a chat and see if they were all right.
There were very few who knew that Father LeRay had, on several occasions, won the Croix de Guerre on the battlefields of France during the Great War before being wounded and taken prisoner.
